Who We Are
Courageous Kidz is a community that strives to be a Safe Haven for Kids with Cancer. We understand that cancer is so much more than a disease. We believe that the child has the disease, the family has the cancer. The doctors are a there to treat the disease. We’re here to treat everything else. At Courageous Kidz, our children find a family where everyone understands their problems, where no one asks questions, where they can be wonderfully normal.
What We Do
We start with a yearly calendar PACKED with fun activities, where our kidz can meet new friends that understand their problems, and see them often. Check out our events page to see them all. Or check out our ‘upcoming events’ to the right.
We also do our best to ensure that our kidz have a healthy, normal home life. Cancer is not only a huge emotional trial for our kidz parents. It’s a huge financial burden as well. To help keep our families on their feet, we sometimes offer some small, but much-needed financial assistance. You can read about it on our financial help page.
Donations & Sponsorships
Courageous Kidz plays a fundamental role in many of our kidz’ lives. But alas, in order to do so, we have to be able to pay for all of our wonderful events and programs. If you’re considering donating to our cause, please do. With a small staff (our director takes no salary at all), you can be sure that your money will go a long way towards helping these kidz. Help us from Home!
There are some things that anyone can do right from home that can go a long way towards helping our cause.
- Using Goodsearch is a great way that you can make a difference doing something you already do. Simply search using www.goodsearch.com instead of Google or Yahoo and a donation is made to Courageous Kidz for every search you make. It’s that easy. The ASPCA has raised $26,000 through Goodsearch. If they can raise that much for cats and dogs, imagine how much we can raise for our kidz!
- FirstGiving is a way that anyone can help raise money for Courageous Kidz. Sign up and create a page, then tell all your friends. The site will keep track of how much you’ve raised and also tells everyone how close we are to our goal.
- We also have an innovative new Auction Page hosted by Dubli.com. You can find amazing deals here. What’s more, every time you view an item, Courageous Kidz get a donation of 24 cents. So if you enjoy shopping online, or just want to look around, you couldn’t find a better place to do it than here.
